As part of an overall effort bring our GW-EFI in spec, I want to clean the IAC valve. AFAIK, sloshing around carb cleaner or brake cleaner, and blowing everything out afterwards should get the job done. Or...? _________________ Lord, give me coffee to change the things I can change, and wine to accept the things I can't change. |

I'm always nervous using Carb cleaner around electronic parts. I tend to start with Contact Cleaner, and move to Brake Cleaner if needed. Could be I have nothing to worry about, but, am remembering Carb Cleaner from days of old and the new stuff isn't the same.
Plastic damage is another thought. _________________ '68 Westy- my first VW and vehicle/Bus- long gone.- sold it to a traveling Swiss couple....

I tend to use WD40 as a cleaner and then lubricate with synthetic oil. |

I like hooking it up to a 12v power supply and activating it while spraying my preferred cleaner, then using an airhose, blowing it out. |
