Just stumbled on this. From Germany back in the day. The little girl asks her dad if the clutch is ok in the 2nd scene. Enjoy!

Oh that was sweet! Wish it had subtitles though. That crashed 411 with smoke coming from the front end?
Was this an ad for VW? |

You would think it was an ad for VW. This german singer Roy Black was popular in the 60’s and 70’s and was on TV alot with various shows. He teamed up with this little girl singing folk and pop thru the years.
Yeah, some people were wondering about the crash scene and smoke coming from where it did. It’s just TV you know, but it’s cute.

No this was not a VW ad, it was a clip out of the 1971 movie "Wenn mein Schätzchen auf die Pauke haut" (comedy) approx: "When my sweethart storms for holiday".
It is said that one man was sitting inside the caravan and steering it by the extra pair of wheels underneath it at the rear, the wheels can be spottet in some scenes.
Dialogue:
At the start the girl ask if the caravan is secured to the 411.
At the end the men argue about who of the two have brought the caravan up the hill, both claim they have...the older guy finally says:
"I have been driving for 30years without any incident"
the younger replies:
"And yet you have not learned how to apply the handbreak!"
...then the vehicles starts rolling away...

I know in the first scene with the girl and her dad outside of the 411, the girl asks if the "Kupplung" is ok. Kupplung is German for clutch or grabber. Not sure if she means the clutch on the 411 or the coupling on the trailer hitch? I think the wagon is a stick because you can hear dad manipulate the clutch as he drives off. We almost need to take a poll on what she meant...lol.

| Kupplung (would sound like COOP- loong) was correctly translated above as an automotive clutch, as well as a coupler. In this context the girl asks if the trailer coupler/hitch is OK, though she does not say the word for trailer. It would thus be Anhaengerkupplung. But Kupplung, which she says, is implied for trailer because the man advises he's ready to go to the pass summit and for her to start cooking in the trailer for the picnic there. |

Yes, I am with you on that reasoning. I find it a bit strange that she is in the trailer and cooking nonetheless! Not the best idea… but it’s a movie, right?
