Your dune buggy was spotted at the toy drive/car show in Gatesville, TX. This morning. My wife was very interested in your roof. Who made it? Are they still in business?

I am not a fan of tops on Buggies at all for two reasons. First is that enclosures of any kind spoils the whole purpose of a Buggy for me. The open view, the wind in your hair. Yes I am a fan of the biker style of open road, open air touring! Second is access.
This one kind of solves both. I think I could actually live with one of those. _________________ Our cars get old, we get old but driving an old VW never gets old! |

Looks like a regular fiberglass top with the sides cut off, some nice hinges at the windshield frame, and some liftgate struts with a rollbar mount - nice functional setup.

Right? I'm tallish, and don't bend very well anymore, And, I tend to freckle in the sun. It's the best of both worlds. Easy access AND shade. It would make a great addition to my buggy

This is my Meyers Manx Kick Out with a lifting top I made around 2010.
I copied what Bruce had done with the Manxter and it lifting top.
At that time Meyers Manx made a 3 piece top to be able to ship it in flat box. The side pieces bolted on top part. I did want that so I left them off.
Contact Faron at 109 Dune Buggies in Canyon Lane, Texas 505-688-7640 he may be able to supply you a top.
