hi all
i am building a 36 hp engine with the following parts
WW 69,5 crank
81 mm WW gorged pistons
Original reworked heads 10 years ago by VW brothers in CA with big valves
dual reichert carbs and Okrase camshaft
we have in europe 95 and 98 octane still available
alll ready to be assembled and my calculations give me the following :
using a CSP 5 mm shim : CR 7,3 and deck height 3,2mm
using 2 X 1,5mm CSP shims : CR 8,74 and deck height 2,2mm
do you think i can use 2 shims together with not so much risk of leaks and the final CR 8,74 is it acceptable,,
i prefer having experience return from those of you who are faamiliar with this kind of engine to avoid big mistakes and expenses |

You will get a better burn in the cylinder with a good quench, this is usually from a 1/1.5mm deck. Dont forget when looking at compression, the more radical the cam over stock the lower the dynamic compression will be. A 8.7 static stck cam will be higher dynamically that a 8.7 static with okrasa cam. one 1.5 shim would give you 1.1mm

(i prefer having experience return from those of you who are familiar with this kind of engine to avoid big mistakes and expenses Very Happy) I dont qualify for this. _________________ (06:31:07) RoachGhia: "i drink dick way too fast" |
