I have 1971 914 and the left sided gauge has a red light at the left side of the gauge that stays on once the engine has started. My understanding is that this is a brake warning light and it serves two purposes. It is on if the handbrake is on or if the brake system is failing. Neither of these two issues seem to be at play so I don't know why it is on. Any one encounter this or know the best way to clarify the situation? TIA dll |

Hi
Just browsing and saw you never got any replies to your brake warning light question. If you never got it fixed, go to the Bay Bus forum, and search with same words.
I got my light fixed with advice from Mr. Dorr. And the help of a friend with electronics experience. Easy peasy.
Hope this helps, and good luck! _________________ 73 bus. Org. 1700 with dual Weber 40 idfs, bus header with Empi qp muffler, CB magnaspark 2 " ready to run kit". |

either the handbrake switch or the master cylinder switch, pull the lead off the handbrake switch and see if the light goes off, if not pull the lead on the master cylinder and see if the light goes off |
