Ray I found a solution for cutting springs..a few decades too late for the type 4
Limit straps..

Been done....MANY decades ago.....but metal was used instead of multi-colored straps from your "Hello Kitty" back pack....

Has a tendency to BREAK/KINK springs.....usually used on low load/short travel springs like on trailers.
They are typically called "shackles". If you have not carefully studied your sprinsg flex range in a progressive spring (like ours) and you put them on the wrong coil, they will either fall out when driving or can break the spring.
Oh...by the way...for those that do not know what these straps are....they are wheel droop/hop limit straps for racing.....when you go over jumps and the suspension unloads.
They are designed primarily for motorcycles or "quads"....light vehicles.
