I got fed up with smacking my head on the air conditioner and it's overall lack of performance so I pulled it out a few years back. I'm now upgrading the interior and have everything pulled out and was wondering if all the wiring behind the cabinet is strictly related to the air conditioner and therefore ok to remove entirely? TIA

Hello!

Yes it is.

The power comes from the alternator, follow the big red cable.

The rest of the harness, I think for 1987, is integrated in the main wiring harness up to the dash...
