Looking for rear bench armrest dimensions early Westy

Greetings, Vanagon owners,

My 1981 Westy does not have the armrest that's mounted behind the sliding door for the rear bench seat. I'd like to 'build' one, but I can't find the dimensions. Can someone please measure their cushion, or perhaps help me with a sketch, as I don't think it's a rectangle, based on photos I've seen? Also wondering whether the wood on the back of it is the same thickness as the bench seat back.

Last trip I was thinking about removing ours. We travel with the bed folded out and made up. The armrest does take a little shoulder room.
