So
Where do I look to shut the vents for the winter? Thank you! _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

Knobs under dash on driver side open and close flappers in the ducts by the hood hinges. There is a piano wire from each knob from the levers, passenger side runs through small diameter tube across dash _________________ Pres. Rivercity VW Club www.rcvwclub.org

On a '74, there should be two knobs below the radio, above the ash-tray. Those should turn the vents off.
If those are missing, you have no way to turn them off.

There is no where to manually close them until spring? Cables and all dash related items for fresh air are gone. _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

Hey all, is the flap control set up this same way in a 1974 coupe? If so, I see a temporary solution. Whew! _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

That picture looks like my 70. You can always tape up the vent grills out front if all the flaps and cables are gone _________________ Pres. Rivercity VW Club www.rcvwclub.org

If I can get to the arm, I will just wire it closed for now. I just need there to be less cold air coming in than the heater can compete with. 33f was a bit brisk this morning with the dash vents blowing cold air. _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

Alright. I found the levers, but I can't tell whether toward the nose, or toward the cab is closed.
Anyone happen to know?
