Does anyone know what this recess in the rubber mat is for in the 181? Is it for something from the heating system in the civilian version? Does anyone have a photo of the place with the mat and the part that probably goes there? It is directly to the frame tunnel in front of the seat frames on both sides (driver and passenger)
Thanks |

No, that one runs in between the front seats.
There are two in the front foot areas on either side of the tunnel feeding the hose into the center section which allows heat to either the front foot area or to the windshield

This plastic tongue is then inserted into a metal sheet (?) that is screwed onto the floor panel in the area where the rubber mat has this recess. Right?

thank you very much for the information! i now understand that there is a tab welded onto the floor panel. The plastic part is hooked into this tab at the bottom and screwed tight with a screw at the top.
And the larger hole in the rubber mat is for the space of the sheet metal tab, right?
in the photo, the plastic part is not properly installed, it is only on top of the tab, right?

Sure.
Axel - where did you get the rubber mat in your photos? Ours need to be replaced and those ones you have look pretty good. _________________ SL |

yes, the mats are very good. The only difference to the original mats is the thickness of the material. The original thickness is 2mm, the reproduction is 3mm. Which is also better.
You can ask Mr. Hans Schuckenböhmer via email, I bought the mats from him. Mr. Schuckenböhmer is "oldschool" (nearly 80 years old). When you ask him, please wrote "dear mr. schuckenböhmer" and at the end "kind regards ..." Most Americans often write nothing or just I want a set, how expensive?
Don't get me wrong, but you wouldn't get any mats otherwise.

They are like the originals, but 3mm thick.
No ribs. But would you drive your thing by raining weather? |

Thanks for the info.
Funny to try teaching people who are used to shouting “Hey, buddy!” about salutary etiquette!
I know that in Germany you often address people by their profession: “Herr Architect“ or “Herr Carpenter”. It's a great tradition. _________________ SL |

And in Germany it is nice to end the communication with Mfg. _________________ Supposed to be 77käfer, but there are no umlauts on an american keyboard
