Hello all. I have a 63 Beetle but I believe the hood is a 64 because there is no Wolfsburg Crest & the hood molding is 39in long not 36in like what's shown on the pic for the earlier set. But I'm wanting to replace mine with chrome ones and I can't seem to find them. Does anyone know of a source? I've tried a local chrome shop to see if they could plate mine, but $300 per piece was too high.

I believe the original trim to be aluminum. Plenty of aftermarket places sell it or polished stainless steel. _________________ my59: Well son, my grandfather died before I got to drive it, so does that answer your question?

Stainless is an option but I want chrome for the bling factor. |

Get the Stainless trim
https://www.wolfsburgwest.com/cart/DetailsList.cfm?ID=113898111BSL
Wolfsburg crest was eliminated early in 63 production Oct 62 VIN 5010448
The mid to late 63s used the long trim

"Chrome" was never an option! These moldings were never "chromed" as such... But were Bright Anodized. (polished aluminum, with protective coating) Know what part of the production year your '63 model falls into, and use the proper length hood trim accordingly. _________________ 1967 VW Convertible, owned 35 years.

Yes it does, but $2100 is a "I don't want to do it price".

I know that it wasn't a factory option. I'm looking for aftermarket. I'm looking for chrome because I like the way it looks. |

Polished stainless is very shinny, most people would think its chrome _________________ Pres. Rivercity VW Club www.rcvwclub.org
