Hi,
Time to order a replacement tent for my EVC. I've seen them from the usual US suppliers, but I also found this option. I like the color choices (orange!).
Has anyone ordered one? (also available on Amazon)

Following. I’m in the same boat and considering this canvas from my 95 EVC. Quite a bit less than that from GoWesty although I don’t think the front window/screen fully opens to provide access to luggage carrier. _________________ —

I looked at these tents carefully when I replaced my EVC tent.
I have to admit the appeal of having a brilliant color tent (orange is my favorite color) was hard to resist.
However, I went back to Bus Depot for my EVC tent because my old Vanagon replacement tent from Bus Depot was a good product and I wanted this to be one-and-done for ten years. I have no regrets.
The BD tent may be plain and gray, but it is properly sized, made of quality materials, functions well, and is backed by a company I know will be answerable to the products they sell.

Orange is what I want! (Yellow is a back-up, but it's not orange.)
That is the problem I'm having, too. I trust BD. If they had orange I'd have ordered already. Especially since I can't find anyone who's ordered one of these other ones. _________________ 1984 Vanagon 1.9/4 speed

I message back and forth with the guy and feel good about dealing with him. So I ordered an orange one.
If it is what I hope for, I'll be very happy.
If it's not, it won't be the worst decision I've ever made.
In the end I know I'll just be happier to look at the orange than any other color. I'll report back how it goes. _________________ 1984 Vanagon 1.9/4 speed

Update: I ordered on 2/22 and it arrived at my house today, 3/7, with no drama.
Packing is great, the workmanship and quality looks good. It might be thinner than the tent I took out, but it was disgusting so it was tossed a few months ago.
It's going to be a bit before I pull the EVC out of the garage and install it (still winter in MN), but here are some pics.
This photo was not staged. Think I like orange?

Ya think?
Better wear that polar flees pull over when out with your EV. It's almost a perfect color match. _________________ I have learned over the years.

Photo of me in 2013 on the day I bought my Vanagon. I still have the orange sweater.

LOVE that orange tent! I chickened-out and recently acquired a factory-gray-colored replacement tent for my 01 weekender that I hope to install next month. |

The orange tent is installed and I'm very happy with it.
My second install will go better than this one did. It's a little bit twisted (maybe an inch). Hard to tell because my struts are a bit weak. And the ground wasn't level. And wind.
With that, the van is pretty much ready to camp. The front speakers don't work, and the grey water tank needs to be re-hung, and I ought to get in there with a toothbrush to clean out some crevices, and and and. Are we ever really done?
My wife and I are exited to use it now.
