I have been a big fan of Roy's Cafe since I unwittingly stumbled onto it about 15 years ago. It looks like Roy's fame has spread. Huge car show on March 1st out the the desert a long way from civilization.

At one time it was all for sale. Here is Huell's take:

Roy's segment starts a little after 19 minutes in. _________________ Current Fleet:

I really enjoyed Huell's shows. He was such a down to earth kinda guy.
RIP Huell.
I've never heard of Roy's story and, apparently, missed Huell's segment on the place. _________________ I have learned over the years.

I used to go through there as part of our "back door" route from the L.A. area to Lake Havasu so I wouldn't have to tow my boat over Cajon Pass. You might have your occasional meetings there but I would argue that for most of the year, there is still a whole lot of nothing out there. |
