So i just got this engine out of a bus. It is AT coded has 2x solex 36 40 pdsit.
Does anybody know its specs? does it have bigger valves? Are they reliable?
i have read that it be out of a 412s but not really sure about it.
If anybody has the same or similar engine i would like to hear a review and if its worth installing it into my bug.

Unless it's a baja, your Bug can't fit this engine. _________________ Current Fleet:

Ah!
You do not see any of those here in North America!
The AT series was European only for 412 cars. It is a 1.8L. The heads, case,crank, valve sizes and everything else is the same as the fuel injection models of 1.8L that went into VW 412 and porsche 914......except.....that it has either flat topped pistons (instead of dished pistons) or it has domed pistons. It possibly has a different/better cam as well.
It is a high compression, higher hp version of the 1.8L that only came in Europe and only with twin carbs. Nice engine!

After opening valve covers I figured it out that it has these heads with 41x34 valves.
Is it the 75hp or 85hp model?

AT = 75 hp, 412 only
AN = 85 hp, 412 and 914, both engines Europe, with 2 carbs
The casted in number should be 021 101 371 S
No EGR ports.
