Paint Code Identify, is this Gemini Blue or Alaska Blue

Would you guys have any idea if this is Gemini Blue L96E or Alaska Blue L96B?

According to vw411-412friends.org, the 411 is supposed to be Gemini Blue, and the 412 is supposed to be Alaska Blue. But this is a 411, and looks a little dark to me, so thinking this might be Alaska Blue.

Either way, I freaking love the color, and I'm 99% sure I'm going to paint my Volvo 1800ES either Gemini or Alaska blue.

Your 411 has definitely been repainted. The blue on these cars were metallics and I don’t see that here. I too loved these blue colors.

The Volvo Sportwagon is one of my favorites! I know color is a personal choice and I loved these gold metallics back in the day. If it were my Volvo I would keep it gold. Nice car!

So are you saying that your 411 wagon has a paint code that says it originally came with Gemini blue L96E? Or are you saying that 411 were not painted L96B Alaska blue?

Because, L96B was a very common color on the 411. I have owned both a wagon and a four door in L96B.

That is definately closer to L96B. Its actually a hard color to hit in modern paint.

Peperbilly, his is a metallic. It is just hard to see because its so glossy and a very fine flake. Its hard to see when you look at straight on pics but you can see the luminous effect in his first picture down at the crease under the license plate.

I agree its been repainted because the metal flake is "finer" than the stock metal flake and the clear coat is different....thicker I think. But its a great looking ride!

Why not paint it a Volvo color?

The 411 is Geminimetallic. I´ve seen it live. Gemini is a little lighter than Alaska. But it´s hard to see the difference in pictures.
