370 views and not a single reply....dam
so i changed the nipples from 1/4" to whatever the next size down is (sorry, not great with imperial sizing) and that didn't change anything.
i stuffed a 170 IDF air jet in the nipple on the oiler side and that didn't change anything either.
even with clamping down on the line i couldn't get to 6-8 second drip before the line was just totally closed.

my plan is change the line from 1/4" clear vinyl to capillary line, like from an old-school oil pressure gauge. if that doesn't work, then i'll start working with the pipe inside the jar.

Sorry, I have no Judson.

In theory, if nothing helps, forget your oiler problems and add a well balanced small amount of 2 stroke mixing oil to fuel. (at every refueling)

So your blower never can run surprisingly out of oil.

((to supercharge a Bentley engine is to pervert it´s design and to currupt it´s performance (W.O. Bentley 1929 about the Bentley Blower), H. Nordhoff could have said the same in his days about VW engines))

You can buy a NOS Vintage Ampco Oiler from Judson guru George Folchi at a very reasonable price. George bought the company over 20 years ago which included the whole original '50s & '60s stock. Works differently to the Marvel Oiler but is said to be equally effective.

so what i found was that my "NOS" unit was not assembled correctly.
the little hat that holds the needle was installed upside-down, not allowing the needle to contact the seat as it should. it now functions properly and is quite adjustable.

Well done, correcting an apprentice assembly on a Friday afternoon. Wink
