Hello! Im looking to build a performance 40hp engine for my 59. I haven't decided on the the combo yet - but I wondering if anyone has any engine dimensions. I need to complete my calculations before I decide! I need -
1. Barrel length ( from mating surface to mating surface) I think its shorter than the 1600 barrels, but I'm not sure by how much.
2. Compression Height (distance from top of piston to middle of piston pin) on a stock 77mm 40hp piston.
Does anyone have that info or know where I can find it? I'm fresh out of 40 hp piston and cylinders, so I can't measure it myself!
Thanks!! Wheelie Pete

| I measured a barrel and piston. I got 108mm seal to seal on the barrel and 39 pin center to top on the piston. |

Make sure you deck the case, and add case savers, the decks were collapsed or sunk about .008,(.2mm) between the cylinders on the last 40 I worked on, pulled head stud also, found out during re-assemble _________________ 73 Type 181
