My shore power receptacle is in bad shape. It works, but the terminals are corroded, the gasket is shot, and there's some rust near the fascia. I did some internet searching for new RV shore power receptacles but nothing matches the Eurovan rectangular form factor.

Has anyone found a good replacement connector that matches the original? And how hard is it to replace- it appears to be behind the water tank so accessing it from inside looks to be a huge PITA.

This is what you want to use. Don't bother trying to find and old metal one, just get one of these: https://www.eurocampers.com/EuroVan-Camper-Exterior-110v-Electrical-InletOutlet-and-Cover_p_305.html

The cover (and outlet, which is attached), mount to a standard metal electrical cutout box (a metal box used for outlets and switches when the wall is covered - so they do not attach to any studs).

You should be able to do all this work from the outside.

I found it. It's the black wire. No, it's the orange/green wire. No wait, it's the orange wire. No, hold on, it's the black wire for real.

I am cutting all this janky crap out and doing it right.

So here is where you get to make the decision to either follow "house wiring" conventions (as did Winnebago) of black hot, etc. or follow automotive convention of black negative. Or maybe just label things, as well? Would that have hurt so much Winnebago?
