I'm doing some body work on a 1970 beetle and need a measurement for correct running board placement. Can someone give me the bolt hole CL to CL measurement from the running boards? I only need from the rear most body bolt hole (either side) to the next hole forward please.
Thank you! |

I have my 1970 VW here, mine since 1972, never been in an accident. I'm sorry, but English is my first and only language, and I don't understand you.

I know this might seem frustrating, but it's unclear exactly what reference point you mean by "the rear most body bolt hole". Might I suggest to avoid confusion that you post a picture with reference marks showing exactly where to where you want a measurement of. _________________ 1960 Ragtop w/Semaphores "Inga" |

I believe the running boards themselves have elongated mounting holes since they have to connect to 3 separate body pieces _________________ 73 Type 181

I mention for the running boards twice in my post.
I'm looking of a centerline to centerline measurement from the rear most running board mounting bolt hole in the body to the next forward running board mounting bolt hole.
I'm replacing some bad metal in that area and I don't have an exact known point on either side for the correct new metal bolt hole placement.
I hope that makes things a bit clearer. |

The running board is attached to the heater channel. My 70 shows 405mm CL from rear most hole to next one forward. Then the next one is 400mm to the next forward hole i.e. the 3rd hole. _________________ 1968 1500 RHD Lotus White Beetle since birth. In the hospital for major surgery
