I have a new Suburban furnace core, and I'm ready to swap out my tired, dirty furnace core for the new one.

Yesterday I found this old thread discussing upgrading the Suburban furnace:

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=777751&highlight=furnace

Since I'm just replacing the core, I need to reuse the old sheetmetal box the core goes in. What holds the core in the box? I see one screw on the electronics module that goes through the box, and obviously the gas pipe ninety-degree elbow has to come off. Anything else?

Ideally, you would delete this topic and ask this question in that thread, and we would answer, "resuse your sheet metal shell."

That way, this relevant topic is included in the thread...

Sorry, I considered that but there is a professional forum I frequent that discourages adding on to old threads and instead prefers users begin a new thread to improve visibility. C'est la vie.

Thanks for adding the link. We are more tolerant here, and if the mods really want to they will just merge it.

Yes, I agree. Don't take my comment as nagging. We're happy to have your contribution.
