Is there a "correct" way to install it ?

The arm to the left, right, fwd, backward ?

There's 5 screws, only 1 way makes sense.

The video I just watched sure looks like it goes left. Drivers side on a left hand drive vehicle. Google is your friend.

Which way "makes sense" ?

With 5 screws, there 4 different possibilities....

The float doesn't fit some of the ways.

There's only one way the holes on the sender will align with the holes on the tank.

Yeah, the 5 screw holes aren't spaced evenly -- ensures that the sender is always aligned in the correct direction on the tank.
