For those of you that just want a driver and aren’t concerned about having it all original, have you thought about making a floor mat from a truck bed mat or horse stall mat? The local Ollies has 4x8 rubber truck bed mats that are 1/4” thick for $25. I could use the old torn mat as a pattern and make one fairly easily I think.

Good idea. Even if you mess up there is enough material for at least three tries I bet.

No reason you couldn't make one out of a horse stall mat. My bus came with house carpet that had been cut to fit. (It's been removed.) Your bus, your rules.

A long time ago I made a Barndoor front floor mat from rubber runner.

It was thinner but worked fine until I could find an original.
