Need a sanity check on my plan for fuel plumbing. I have a 22g RCI fuel cell mounted 1/2" over the tunnel, behind the seats in my caged baja. Just finished the tray fab, now moving onto the plumbing. The plan is to run 2 pumps in parallel for redundancy, switch on the dash to run either pump.

Top of the fuel cell
-10 AN fuel pick-up, reduce to -8 AN
½” hardline to the side of the fuel cell

Side of the fuel cell
100 micron filter & shut-off valve, reduce to -6 AN

Under the fuel cell (stock battery location)
Tee going to a (2) separate Carter rotary pumps, each with a 10 micron filter, check valve, then to another tee, then to a regulator mounted to the firewall.

My concern is that because it is a circle track fuel cell and has the pick-up top mounted, the pumps will not be able to adequately pull from the top of the tank and back down. I know most pumps are pushers, and only a few are good suckers. What do guys have for a fuel pump that run circle track fuel cells?

IMO, you should be ok with the rotary pump setup as described.
I used a Carter rotary pump to empty my Eurovan fuel tank last week to facilitate a fuel pump change. I pumped out 11 gallons without any issues.

My understanding is, that the rotary pumps cannot lift more than two feet. If you are under that measurement, you should be ok.

the pumps are below the tank, and will syphon to the pumps after the line fills. I would put a shutoff before the pumps on top of the tank. otherwise if you spring a leek you have no way to stop it.
