Saw these at a local VW show and was wondering more about them. Seems to be some sort of safari prop arm? |

Sure would be nice not to have to have them gorilla tight to get on the freeway…. |

They look ridiculous!
A guy on an Australian forum 3D printed these and was going to have them cut from stainless, seems like a much more logical solution, I'm not sure if he ever made the steel version or it was just a prototype.

I don't understand the point of either style prop....you know there are wing nuts you can just tighten to hold the window in place right? _________________ drive your split. |

I’m guessing that they are used as a prop then, it was something “new” that I recently saw after visiting a VW show. A better question then would be, what type of washer are you using on your safari windows to keep them open while doing 60 on the freeway without as ‘Malokin Martin’ describes as being gorilla tight? Are you using plastic or fiber type washers to keep the windows open? I’m assuming the fiber washers would work better. And then such a device that would “bend your vents” and “poke out your passengers eye” wouldn’t be needed. |

Bought the expensive fiber ones. Still not easy to get them to stay half open @70. Not saying this guy is a genius, just that it’s an intriguing idea |
