Need recommended volks mechanic in southeastern Michigan

I acquired a '69 Ghia vert last winter and discovered after taking it to a local classic car mechanic that the compression on one side of the engine is practically zero. In short, I probably need a rebuilt engine or at least a qualified volkswagon mechanic that can diagnose my current engine further and recommend how to move forward.

There are other issues - some electrical, needs a new canopy and paint job- but these are not as pressing as the drivability issue.

I'm looking for any member recommendations for a vetted mechanic. I'd love to get this girl rolling before summer sets in.
