How many amps can a replacement for the Magnatek be? I am looking at the Progressive Dynamics 30 vs 45a versions.

I replaced mine with a Victron 20A charger, and it's fine. The victron unit very compact, and works really well.

Depending on your model year, there are either 30 or 40 amp fuses in the circuit going to the house battery. Therefore I would not recommend trying to charge above 30 A. I have a Victron IP 22, 30 amp charger and it works great.

If you're going to replace your MagneTek, which I think most everyone would agree is a good idea, I strongly second (third?) the Victron IP 22. It's a great charger and the control via bluetooth is unmatched in it's price range. A great way to future proof your charging system.

The Victron IP22 does support Lithium: https://www.victronenergy.com/upload/documents/Datasheet-Blue-Smart-IP22-Charger-120-VAC-EN-.pdf

UPDATE: I found a mobile RV guy who came over just a few days after we connected. I found out he is a recent Ukrainian refugee and could not have been nicer, smarter, friendlier, more well-equipped or patient, letting me hang out with him and ask questions etc. He hadn't worked on a Eurovan before but using the instructions I printed out from xochi.com and 1705.net, and a liberal use of chatgpt (!), he got it done in 4 hours. I ended up using the Victron IP22 and all is well.
