We went to the 20th Maupin RendezVW 2025 campout this last weekend.
This campout takes place every Fathers day weekend for the last 20 years. This was my first time attending and we had an absolute blast camping and commiserating with our fellow campers.

At the height of the weekend, I counted 43 camper vans of all generations VW.
Barndoors, Split windows, Many Bay Windows, also many Vangaons, then there was the three EV Wankers, we had the nerve to show up and represent. Lol!
And, there was one VW Vanagon TL Karmen motor home, that was imported from Germany 6 years ago, one of two known in the US currently. It was a pretty neat looking motor home.

On the way some of the more powerful vans got separated from the splits and trailer pullers. We pulled off the roadway to gather back up and make the final 17 mile push into Maupin.

We got somewhat situated after greeting our camp host.

Then other campers in our group showed up a few hours later and the campout got busier.

We drank and ate and partied into the nights. Everyone got along like family.

Saturday afternoon, one of our fellow campers took all the kids that wanted to go swimming, in his split bus to a swimming hole a few miles away. 21 kids and three adults packed that bus quite well. Sorry, no pics of the kids in the bus, as it wouldn't be cool to post um.

Sunday morning, we broke camp and lined up the camper vans for a group pic.

There should be a follow up post for this campout from Xevin, who referred to my 03 EV as an Astrovan all Saturday afternoon and evening.
Note the sig change below Xevin.

It was a great weekend along the Deschutes river and the weather was fantastic.
