One of the push rod seals is off center a little. Is this a problem? The head is torqued down. They are Eling seals, and I also used GASGACINCH gasket sealer on them.

I use a 13mm deep socket on an extension to "massage" the pushrod so the seal fits better.
There's no need for a sealant and using one might prevent the seal from moving to a better spot. _________________ Glenn

I've never used sealant of any kind on the pushrod tube seals. _________________ 1970 VW (owned since 1972) and 1971 VW Convertible (owned since 1976), second owner of each. I'm fairly certain that this is pretty close to being the best article on VW pushrod tubes ever written.
