Hi All,
I recently picked up a short block that has an 82mm crank, 356/912 connecting rods and maybe (stamped 1101) a 110 cam? Case is an AE and is stamped with a "Motion Minicar" and "2180" stamp. The case is std on the mains and thrust and no obvious case pounding by the bearings. The crank is std on the mains and obviously setup for porsche journals. I am considering just cleaning it all up and replacing bearings. I have a set of 90.5 "B" P&C and from what i have read 92 and 90.5 have the same opening. I'd end up with a 2110 but have all the parts except bearings here. Any major concerns jump out? Kind of a sweep the floor build. |

Go for it!!
The 356 rod bearings might be a bit tricky to find, or at least $$$. Just put some decent heads on it, and let it rip. I would change out the w110 cam, but that is just me. If you want it to be "old school" than the w110 is fitting.
Light flywheel, 44 IDF's, and some Tims s1 40x35 heads, and it will run good.

Do you come across cases stamped like that around there? I am way North in Newfoundland and no idea how this thing ended up here. |

I’d hit it
The Porsche bearings cost a bit more but you only buy them once….
The benefit to Porsche journals is the thicker crankshaft throws= stiffer crank and less flex. And the short Porsche rods make for a nice torquey street engine _________________ modok wrote:

Wow, that takes me back. Grew up in Northern NJ, made a trip out to Motion to buy some parts for a 64 Bug I got in 1970...probably headers and a Hurst shifter. |

I also grew up on Long Island ( Bay Shore H.S.1969) and knew of Motion Performance in Baldwin. they were famous for their Chevrolet performance builds similar to Yenko. Was Motion minicar the same company as Motion Performance? |

Yes...when I went to pick up the parts it was the same place, crawling with big block Camaros and such. |

Thanks for the reply Johnny. Every so often when I watch the televised auctions like Barrett Jackson I see a motion performance Camaro go across the block usually for very big bucks. |
