I have a FrankenBus, 82 mexican kombi body, with an ACD 1994 mexican beetle engine. Which has had the fuel injection removed and is carbureted.
My exhaust is completely rusted and has several holes I've been patching. I need a new exhaust, the fumes are getting bad. Anyone have a recommendation for a bus with a beetle engine exhaust? I've attached pics of the existing exhaust, notice the oil filter(might be in the way).

Thanks.

Couple of things… You’re in Minneapolis? Doesn’t look like that thing has heat. Maybe the first step is to get heat exchangers?
If you could get away with the peashooters exiting below the apron, that’s probably your cheapest route. Back in the day…… They sold offset adapters so you could run peashooters on a split bus. Basically a 45° elbow to clear the apron. _________________ Larry in OB

with a back window in the bus and the dead space behind the bus you want to dump exhaust out one or both sides. Otherwise you may die from CO inhalation. You will also get less carbon build up on the back of the bus. _________________ "Most people don't know what they're doing, and a lot of them are really good at it." - George Carlin |
