hi folks im changing my engine in my autostick and wondering what type trans fluid and how much it needs. also one of the lines coming from the pump is slightly kinked but doesnt leak but im wondering if i can replace it with a regular hydrolic line i appreciate any input i can get autostick info is hard to find. i built a dual port to put in while i figure out why the single port was getting so hot.it looks like putting the torque converter plate bolts is going to be fun any tricks on that would be greatly appreciated. thanks

For the Auto stick side use Dexron ATF get a gallon, the new stuff will work it is backward compatible.
Use a good 80/90 GL5 hypoid gear oil for the Differential R+P side.
some will say use GL4.
Yes you can replace the Pipe but you may have a hard time finding fittings.
The torque converter plate bolts you may need to notch or drill a hole in the bell housing. I have never done one but have done a full auto 003 trans.
Don't forget to check your endplay with the torque converter plate.

There are holes in the bell housing, you can put in one torque converter bolt at a time pretty easily. I recommend putting them each in enough to hold but not tightening them until all are started in case there is any warp to the tabs or the thin driveplate.

My husband dropped the engine and kinked a line, we were able to bend it back slightly but didn't want to do more in case it broke. There was another anchor point we were able to loosen and then get the hose fitting on, then anchored the line back in place.

There is an ad in the classifieds for the 68 and newer bugs that has several auto stick oil lines for sale. Just do a search on auto stick and you will see them.
