I am at my wits end using different methods to install the passenger side mirror.
Before I drill another hole, I ran across the following post:https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4902985.
How far into the procedure do I have to go to just tilt the vent window back to secure the nut for the mirror?
Happy Monday,

Thanks for the reference, Schepp.
I think I will give this a go, if the gap- when the vent window is tilted back- allows room to start/tighten the nut, image 18.
Looking at my Bug, I aint so sure.

My bug came with a factory style passenger side mirror installed. Done by some previous owner. It’s too far forward, hits the vent window and it harder to see out of. Also, there’s booger welds holding the nut underneath. I put Brazilian flag type mirrors to see better and they never stay adjusted. _________________ 1973 standard, yellow, lowered, 3” narrowed front, 1600 blo-thru turbo w/single dell 15.4@86, so far
