You’ll forgive me if this has been mentioned as a topic before, I looked and could not find something similar. Driving around this holiday season I noticed a few VWs being used as props to advertise other businesses. All are just off the heavily traveled I-44 corridor and all are located in one state. I’d seen the yellow bug that looks like it hit a fire hydrant, even featuring running water. The bus is inside a pizza place, notice to whole 60s vibe they have going on. shades of Peter Max, google Pete he’s real. Thelast pic you’ll have to zoom in to see the green camper and I’ve driven past this place for about 30 years, he collects petroliana Look it up it’s a real thing too. Visiting family and friends with a combination of flying and driving I’ve already covered 10 States. Cheers to you

zundfolge I'm surprised you didn't post this one, down on Peoria close to 244:
And this one further south on Hwy 69 toward TX, close to Atoka. This one used to be up on a huge pole years ago but I guess they made him take it down:

Hope like hell VWOA has not seen any of these....They and many other manufacturers can be very touchy about using the cars, images or logos that may resemble the VW logo...and even the shape.
I ran through a bit with their legal dept on what I could and could not do for my shop. Once again - this is not just VW, GM has done cease and desist as well as some other car companies....

This car has been up here in Lenoir City for as long as I can remember - they recently replaced the sign and decided to keep the Beetle on it.

Not saying its an issue for sure, BUT even using a cartoon or a profile of a bug can be a copywrite infringement according to VWs attorney that i was corresponding with... _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone 1914. Ex wifes car.

I gave the owner permission to use this picture in her advertising or web page, don't know if she did. Mayer, Arizona.

wish we still had a Fuddruckers around here. I liked the ones that used to be in NJ |
A local family, The Pappas, bought them a while back. The company might have had some problems so they pulled out of some markets. Lately I'll see Luby's and Pappas built up next to each other for the new ones. _________________ www.vwnos.com [email protected]

There has been an old Beetle in front of this collision shop, as an attraction-getter, for as long as I can remember. However, I remember it being up on a higher pole many years go, and it could have been a different car, as it was a different color, again, as far as I remember. It is on Long Beach Rd in Oceanside.

I was around in the 70s when VW sent out the cease and desist letters threatening small businesses screw vwoa then and now. Here’s another one that’s been in place for over 30 years at a pest control business. They should be flattered instead of trying to screw over the small businessman.
