on the quest to make my bug go quicker i am debating what new ENG, CARBS,TRANS to put in it.

what kind of power do these engs out out
1600dp -
1776dp -
1915dp -
2232dp -

is it true the bigger the cc the less reliable
i want power but it will be a daily driver

can i put in a 5spd trans and how much?

whats the diff between IDF and IDA? what do they stand for?
IDF - more 4 street use?
IDA 4 track use?

what kind of carbs can i put on each eng? im thinking of 40,44,48 sizes all duel carbs .

OK thats all i can think of now so thx for the feed back? hope you reply to my other topic "What kind of theme do i want"
THX AGAIN

Bigger is usually better. But a highly tuned 1776 can be faster than a 1915... there's too many factors that affect power output. displacement is only one of them.

For a 5 speed you have 2 options. Porsche 901 / 915, butt hey require alot of custom fabrication. A Berg 5 is mostly a bolt in. Price varies depending on how rebuilt of a tranny and what option you want it in. Also labor is another... the more you do, the less it costs.

IDF and IDA are different models of Weber carbs. Generally IDF is street and IDA is race. but you CAN race with ODFs and you CAN run onthe street with IDAs.

Building a hi-po engine is very complicated. All systems have to match and work together You can put a large carb on a small engine... but it won't work at it's best.
