Im an early bus guy and I got this sunbug on trade I ve done a read up on what it is apparently they aren’t very rare and this ones had a lot of repairs done to it runs well and stops
Looks great from five feet away but needs paint cutting polish and the bottom is got a layer of surface rust so a clean and paint
The seats is the issue they are the original cord insert and in need of love or replacement I have not checked with sew fine yet but I’d like to put mk2 or vw mk1 seats rabbit convertible or Jetta ..in till I get it sorted will theyfit ??? _________________ 1959 Dormobile

| Nice looking sun bug. I had one of these brand new in 1974 on long island. I still have the window sticker for it. That corduroy insert in the seats had a levi jeans tab sewn into it. The shifter knob had the Wolfsburg crest and the center section on the steering wheel design outline was painted silver. I had had a 1970 bug new before this one and the 74 did not compare running wise to the 70. The 70 was crisp and precise with lots of low end torque and the 74 stumbled and felt like it was being held back by something. By contrast 2 of my friends had 74s and they ran great. I kept it less than a year and went back to an older beetle. |

| Great car, i had a Sunbug vert years ago and it was one of my favorite VWs. I fondly remember Tim who was/is the Sunbug whisperer and keeper of all the knowledge. |
