Hey,

I detected what I believe to be an excessive play in vacuum canister lever/ shaft.

Does anyone know what is the stock diameter of the hole in the lever?

To much play can delay the timing advance, right?

Bosch SVDA

Thanks

Bosch vac can I have has hole diam about 4.6 mm.
Aftermarket can has hole diam about 4.75 mm.
Diam of the peg the can arms fit over is about 4.5 mm.

Both arms have to be pushed into the can a bit to fit over the shaft, thus eliminating any play. There is no play at all in the arms of either can, indicating that the internal spring is pressing against the diaphragm.

I don't believe you can tell anything about the timing from these facts, you have to measure actual advance versus vacuum signal from the carb.

EDIT: removed comment in first version which didn't make much sense

Thanks, folks,

I’m too late to take the photo. I remade the hole with cold solder: no play for a while.
