Rod bearing desigation

I just pulled the rod bearings on a 74 SB I just got. They have the following markings on them.

0.25 U St 71-1950

What does this mean?

The .25 U likely means.25mm or .010” undersize on the rods. The rest could mean anything such as a production code, lot number, etc.

In my view it really doesn’t matter.

You can and should verify by measuring the crank journals with a micrometer.
