Anyone got any information on these puppies? I just scored a '67 pop-top walk-through camper. The bed/seat in the back says "Sportsmobile" on it. Everything in the interior matches, so I'm guessing it's a Sportsmobile camper. It's got the big picture window like Rivieras. I've got a few bits that I don't know where they fit and what not for the camper, but for the most part it's complete. I have the fridge, the jumpseat, two stools, the bed, a rear cabinet, and some other stuff. I have a box that definitely belongs to the bus but I don't know where it mounts. Anywho, I'll post pictures and the complete story of how I scored the bus tomorrow. It's super sweet. _________________ All your Buses are belong to us.

I have had 2 Sportsmobiles but there were bay window buses. I love them. I have all the stuff to convert my 69 to a sportsmobile once I have my 59 roadworthy. _________________ Why buy what you can build.

I had a Travel Equipment Corp camper that had the big window as well, and was a 67 walkthrough panel conversion. The interior in it was Westy-style, but really cheesy and flimsy. _________________ <---Air Cooled Search & Rescue Team - STICKERS & T-shirts for sale!

I'll try to snap some pictures tomorrow if it's a nicer day. This bus wasn't a panel, it has no vents above. It's definitely a sweet camper. Going to try to take it camping this weekend if it's nice and not too cold. But, yeah, like I said, I'll get pics tomorrow if it's nicer. Thanks for the help so far. _________________ All your Buses are belong to us.

does it have the m-code plate? i think 116 is the panel vent delete option. all of the sportsmobiles i know of have this option. although, walkthrough panels don't have vents anyway. your vin should start 217******. the 2 is the type, the 1 is panel, and the 7 is the year.
there was a '66 walk-through sportsmobile booklet on here a while ago. i didn't have any money though. it was pretty cheap. |

Is the book still around? Also, I don't know where the M-Code plate on this is. I can't seem to find it. Is it behind the passenger seat? If so, how do you lean the seat forward? Mine seems attached. _________________ All your Buses are belong to us.

the m-code plate is behind the passenger seat. there should be a hook at the top and two at the bottom. you should be able to see the plate with the seat in, but probably can't easily read the whole thing. the vin plate is on the side of the fresh air vent in the passenger side front corner.
i believe the book sold. it was in the literature section of the classifieds. |
