So I have a 75' standard beetle that i bought with all the wiring cut at the harness lots of fun rewiring. Either way the turn signals were working and now they are not instead of the turn signal working as it should i get flashers when the signal lever is pushed. In addition my running lights no longer work. Both bulbs are good. The rear lights are vega lights so the running ,flasher and turn signal all goes through thte same bulb much the way a trailer does. Any help would be appreciated |

That is going to cause you a problem... the later VW's uses 2 bulbs for that function... one dual filament for brakes and running and one single for the turn. If you try and wire them all up to a single dual filament bulb you will be crossing circuits.
You can use a trailer adaptor ( see the second one down on this page)
http://www.draw-tite.com/products/products/elec_wiring_tlconvert.shtml
That may not solve all the troubles you are haveing, but I would get one ( you can get one a Wal Mart cheap or just about any auto parts store)
and hook it up before trying to troubleshoot any further |

This does make sense and I thank you for responding The question is why would it have worked in the beggining and also I forgot to mention the headlights flash with the flashers when the lights are off. I can definately try that converter though i have had to use them for trailer lights on cars before and this makes sense. Again thank you i searched and couldn't find a solution for this problem. |
