My car is leaking oil where the engine meets the tranny. I pulled the engine off and remover the flywheel and all the seals looked good. Where could this be coming from. |

If it's on the left (drivers) side it could be the oil cooler.
Are you sure it's oil and not gear lube? _________________ Glenn

It's hard to tell what side it's leaking from because it drops out at the bottom of where they meet. |

Then clean it up and give it a few days.
You can also get a dye kit and use a UV light to show where it's comming from. _________________ Glenn

I don' know if it will help at all but I have a leak coming from my oil cooler but it also runs down the front. does yours? also a cheap way to find the oil leak is to first, spray the area with easy off kitchen cleaner ( its cheaper than auto cleaners). Then, hose the area down, let it dry and spray on aerosol foot powder. The oil will stain a path in the powder, which you can follow back to its source. good luck. |

The oil cooler seals is a place where leaks are found. They are cheap and easy enough to change. Why dont you just replace them, you could then check the oil cooler for leaks at the same time.
Also have you checked if your oil level is down? Or if your transmission level is down? |

If the oil only comes out between the eng & trans it is either Flywheel seal, cam plug ( small flat metal or plactic disk below the crankshaft but would leak all the time ) engine case seams ( doubt it ) or the case has cracked behind the #3 cylinder. If it is thicker oil & smells sulphurus it could be the trandsaxle's mainshaft seal located just ahead of the throw out bearing. Oil cooler will leak down the driver side external of the bell housing. _________________ Midwest Autosavers, Inc. Crystal Lake, IL |
