Hey guys,
I just measured my deck height with my new Berg deck height tool. I came up with a measurement of .014
Where do you guys recommend I have the shims or spacers made up for my cylinders. I know I can have Berg do it but are there any others that are just as good out there?
I am shooting for 8.7-1 compression ratio.
Thanks again

Can you give us the rest of your combination? Such as, head cc's bore, stroke, cam, carbs, type of vw, and driving habits? You might want to look into Copper head gaskets. Tim

Nice engine combo.. WIth that Cam it's going to want some compression to make it run well. I'd either run a .060 cyl base shim or a .060 copper head gasket to give you 9.3 CR. I think you'd be happy with that and it would be a lot easier to tune. Also, check with your head porter and see what he says. Good luck, Tim
