what can i say?im gonna clean up the shifters and stuff and sell extras cheap. you guys save vacation and come visit. this guy offered me a pass rocker cut including as much floor to fix my problem area on Earl for $50 -now when he fires up his gas powered cutter i will go get it. there has to be 10 or more vw grave yards where no rust busses ,beetles are being cutup to make room. |

ARGH!!!!
That just makes me cringe...the only local VW yard in my home town was all crushed & scrapped without warning several years ago...it's such a shame, especially where even super-clean busses have at least a little rust, and the rest can be pretty bad... _________________ <---Air Cooled Search & Rescue Team - STICKERS & T-shirts for sale!

a perfect no-rust bus 13 window like mine was sitting there and the kid put 2 beetles on top of it and crused the roof. then lowered forks and drag the forks and proceeded to flatten the roof.i moved here 5 years ago from Racine,Wisconsin and i know rust and finding parts.. it makes me cringe more than you think. |

Damn, what yard are you going to? The best I've seen has been a bunch of bay window buses, the earliest a '68 with the whole front chopped off. I haven't seen any splits in the yards I've been going to. _________________ Shawn

What's even more sad is some POS 90's american car will probably sit on any one of those yards longer than a VW. The yards around here like to buy up all the $200 beaters they can, but for some reason they scrap the many times more valuable VWs...... As soon as a Bus hits the yards around here you'd better have cash in hand cause by the time you get back half of the parts will be gone or off to the crusher it goes |

well, y'all wont have to worry. cuz when i open up my restoration shop out in the desert, im also gunna have a "resting yard" for old vw's and stuff for y'all to look for! NO CRUSHING ALLOWED!..... unless the vehicles arent vw's... then, they wouldnt even make it into my resting yard! _________________ josh, AKA "the infamous josh"
