My brother noticed that this '67 Double Cab has a JU delivery port, which is unknown:

Anyone have a guess?
JT and JV are Italy but other J codes are other areas, mostly in Europe
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/exportcodes.php

I sent the seller an email to ask if he knows the originally country of sale.

M-code 240 above is a low compression engine for countries with crappy gas so it could be something related to that.

that sticker below the TaubenBlau L31 might be a give away- looks like it says Boja?Broj ? which might be related to Hungary?

Although it is a one owner truck it doesn't look like it has had the easiest life

The seller said it was originally sold in Yugoslavia

I added that to the list but it's a bit weird since all the other Yugoslavias start with Y.

This is really a great bus and a great thread to read!

JU stands for "Jugoslawien", German for Yugoslavia. This has been confirmed by VW through the birth certificates of my two 1967 Yugoslavian delivered deluxes.
I have a good friend who ownes another 1967 Yugoslavian delivered deluxe and another two Yugoslavian delivered split buses.

There must have been only a few of them delivered to that country!
I'm very interested in the history of all these buses actually back then delivered to a communist country!

Do you have some more information on this one from the seller? Do you have his contact data?
Who owned it before?
Who ordered the bus back then in Yugoslavia?
What was its history?

I would really appreciate any information about this story!
Thanks in advance!

"A Yugoslavian type 241 (Samba), produced on July 1st 1964, with Pearl White upper part, Mouse Grey lower part and Basalt Grey interior - a very, very rare color combination even on a deluxe!!

I also own two 1967 Yugoslavian delivered deluxes, I have a friend who ownes another 1967 Yugoslavian delivered deluxe and another two Yugoslavian delivered split buses and I'm very interested in the history of all these buses actually back then delivered to a communist country!"

Do you have some other pictures of this one?
What was its history? Where is it now? Has it been restored in the meantime

No M-codes. Just a nothing special 21 window.....

(I say that in jest, as a mouse grey 21 is very special)
