Possibly against my better judgement, I dragged home a '62 T34 Coupe yesterday. I wasn't actively seeking a new project, but I was receptive to the idea if right car came up.
This car (#0 018 896) was originally pulled out of a junkyard in Fairfield in 1998 by Larry Edson & Richard Troy. Larry had collected a zillion parts for it over the years, a lot of them NOS, but finally decided it was time to let it go.

Hardship case... but much worse cars have been rejuvenated. I admire the T34 alot but never even sat in one. Hope you can get it going again. Please share your progress occasionally (with photos) here. |

A little more back story - Back in December of 1998 a guy by the name of Dennis Greenland posted to the Type 2 mailing list about finding a Type 3 Ghia in a Pick-n-Pull in Fairfield, CA. Dennis Farr then cross-posted that email to the Ghia mailing list.
I was headed to Fairfield that day so I took my camera (film) with me to have a look. After getting home, I took the film to a 1-hour photo place, then scanned them and put up a quick web page about the car (Remember, this was way before theSamba forums existed). I have resurrected that page here:
http://home.comcast.net/~minkt/t34/t34junk.htm
That page resulted in Richard Troy and Larry Edson deciding to save the car. Then a few weeks ago Thom mentioned to me that he was looking for an early T34 and I knew Larry still had this car and I was able to put the two together. I was absolutely blown away by the amount of awesome hard -to find NOS stuff Larry had collected over the years for this car. |

It looks like it's found itself a good home. Reminds me of my own T-34, back when I started working on it almost 2 years ago (damn, has it been that long already ). _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Getting it from Larry is a big deal. He knows his T34s and has been at it for years. If he gave you all the stuff to compleet it then this cars almost done
Great purchase, I hope it turns out as nice as that T1 lowlight. _________________
