Towe's Auto Museum in Sacramento, CA is opening their VW Invasion exhibit. We thought it would be cool to have an all aircooled VW car show to help open up the exhibit with a bang! All proceeds go directly to the museum and they need all of the help they can get. The car show will be in the parking lot directly behind the museum (under the freeway). The parking lot is paved and offers protection from the sun or rain. **Show hours are 10 am-3 pm**Rain or Shine**Free for spectators** -All aircooled VW's are welcome -All VW swap meet -VW vendors -Raffle -Music -Trophies -Food Car show entry will be $10 if pre-registered or $15 at the gate the day of the show. The WMDRA will include 3 rounds of qualifying on Saturday, March 24th, and eliminations to take place on Sunday, March 25th. It is near the Danish style city of Solvang. Take the short hike up the trail to the falls that are usually flowing nicely this time of year. There is no charge to get in. Time: 8:00 till 4:00 Sat April 14 Lo Cash Navigational Rally: Back by popular demand, free to enter and hosted by Low Cash Racing. A navigational Rally in the style of the Berg rally. Its a challenging way to have fun with your VW. Participants will be given a list of clues and questions. Speed is not encouraged but accuracy and a good navigator is. It has proven to be a blast and is a great family or team experience. The rally will be departing from the show venue and will be ending at a local restaurant which will shortly be announced. An event not to be missed Start time approx. 4:00 Sunday April 15 No Cash Beach bash: A beach gathering on the Worlds most famous beach.....well just south of it. We'll be gathering on the beach between Dunlawton blvd and El Portal st. Volusia county beach rules apply as does the $5 entrance fee to drive on the beach. Spring Cruise to Jamestown/Surry and back! Meet at McDonald's on 13131 Kingston Avenue, Chester, VA 23836 by 10am. Once we are all ready to go we will proceed East on Route 10 through Hopewell. Make a left onto Route 156 crossing over the James River until we arrive at Route 5. Turn right (east) on Route 5 until we come to Greensprings Rd (Route 614) and turn right there. Of course, while we are on Route 5 we can stop at any of the plantations to sight see and takes some pictures of our rides. Once we are on Route 614 take that until it dead-ends at Jamestown Rd (Rt 31) and turn right towards the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry. Then take the ferry across the James. Once in Surry we can grab lunch at the Surry House Restaurant & Country Inn. Afterwards we cross back over the James on the ferry and pull off for some pictures in Old Jamestown. Last year some members of the Peninsula VW Club in Hampton Roads took us on a short drive to some very cool spots to take some neat pictures. |

We will be staying at the Lakeview Campground at Rancho Jurupa Park in Riverside Ca, Friday night thru Sunday afternoon April 20th-22nd 2012! We are hoping to all stay near each other reserving the spots 57-61 and 75-80. This section of the camp ground has elec & water hookups for you sissy trailer campers, spots are right near the showers and the lake. The Lakevie campground site offers 2 common areas nearby for activities (horse shoes, volley ball, washers... What ever you can dream up!) Time once again to Spring into the Springs at beautifull Ginnie Springs Outdoor Resort near High Springs FL. http://www.ginniespringsoutdoors.com/ Everyone bring your tubes / kayaks / small boats / snorkle-scuba gear / horseshoes / bocce ball / bikes / and your appetite.... cause we are either eating, planning what to eat, or spinning the blender! To quote a famous member "we are basically just an eating club with a camping disorder.." Libertarian 2006 We will be doing potluck dinner followed by island dance party on Saturday night. This being a private campground, open containers are abound all weekend! Tell your friends/family etc. even if they don't own a VW yet... this would be the perfect opportunity to brainwash/infect them with the disease. This is a really great campout...lots to do... Over 200 acres in the woods along the Santa Fe River with a hour and a half tube flote and several crystal clear springs to explore! The turnout was great in the past with almost 100 people and 50 vdubs!! We had some come from as far away as Virginia Beach and N. Carolina!!! I hope you can join us and make this one even better... families too as we had quite a few kidilums last spring and they were fantastic... come for one night or the entire 3 day weekend...we would love to meet you! We camp near the boat ramp in a large group setting. "Bugs on the Hooch" will be a family friendly, cool car event. We'd like to see all the " 10 on a scale of 10" cars, as well as the "hood rides and ratts". We are located right next door to a park with a boat landing, bait shop, and picnic area....so there's something for eveyone. Bring the whole family and have a fun day at the park. Louisville, a small bedroom community outside of Omaha shall make for a nice atmosphere in a quaint old-fashioned setting. The car show will be held at beautiful Claremore Lake. Three trophies will be given per class with over 50 classes. Also, drawings will be held throughout the day for cash & giveaways prizes totaling more than $1,000. Awards will be given out at 4:00 p.m. The lake is beautiful and there are plenty of shade trees, picnic tables and a playground for the kiddies. Registration: Pre-register by mail before Sept.15, 2012 for $15 and be entered into a $50 drawing! Register the day of the show between 8:00-11:00 am for $20. Proceeds from the event benefit the Shriner’s Transportation Fund! This fund transports local children from this area to and from Shriner’s Hospitals. Fun for the Whole Family - Food, Arts & Crafts!
