Yuma, Arizona Open to all VW’s-bugs, buses, ghias, rails, dune buggies, bajas, vanagons, water cooled, etc. in any condition. Bring it, enter it, and make some friends while feeling good about raising some much needed funds for Amberly’s Place. BBQ, Fire, Campout Camping is $25 for Friday and Saturday and includes BBQ for the driver. Additional plates are $5/adult and $3/child (12 and under). Drinks are free, which include keg beer, sodas, and water. The BBQ and Drinks are for Friday night only. If you are only camping Saturday night it is $10 per vehicle. Friday-Gates open at 3:00 PM, BBQ and beer starts around 6:00 PM until gone, bon fire Saturday Morning-7:30 AM wake up for show, roll to show about 8:00 AM Saturday Night- 7:00 PM evening cruise, Bon Fire, gas-grills provided for cooking This will all take place at the Yuma County Fair Grounds, the same facility as last year. There are nice showers and flushing toilets. We are camped in a grassy area and have control over lighting the area up as needed. Tents are permitted and we have security watch over the campsite while we are at the show, so there is no need to break down your camp. We also provide a BBQ for cooking and the fire wood for our community bon fire, so pack light for heaven’s sake! Please, we ask that you do not do any "hot rodding" on the Fair Grounds property, pets are allowed as long as you clean up after them. We will cruise on the intimate roads of the Osage hill country through Sand Springs, Skiatook, Avant, Wolco and Barnsdall and out onto the vast back country praries of huge ranches with breathtaking views and interesting places like Woolaroc and the National Wild Horse Refuge among others. Most driving surfaces be on state and county maintained black top roads with a few short stretches on packed gravel. More information to follow. |

This event is intended for the racer to enjoy themselves, and give the crowd a show to enjoy. Safety first! All IHRA or NHRA safety rules apply, depending what track the event is being held. If you’re unsure on the rules, consult a track official for more details. Failure to comply may result in disqualification. When you enter the dragway, you will be given a sheet explaining these rules and classes. After you find your spot at the track, come to the tower and register for your class. Classes may be adjusted due to participation. Each racer will get 3 qualifying rounds. The first 2 rounds will be done by a protree. the 3rd round will be done "hands down style" without the tree. Give it all you got, no sandbagging. If we feel that you are doing this, you will be moved to another class or result in disqualification. No times will be shown nor announced. The only thing you need on your car is your car number & class number. Time slips will be issued to each driver on each pass from the ET building. The dragstrip timing system will be used to record the winner of the round, and to monitor times. After qualifying, the hands down racing will begin. Don't jump the hands. If you jump, you loose. Don't worry, if you jump or just have a bad run, we will allow 1 buy back, but in the 1st or 2nd round only. The final decision of race results will be determined by the event host or suitable proxies. Purse money will be paid to each class winner. Purse is determined by amount paid in each class by racers. Progressive payout style. |

We will be taking a drive to help the needy and all valley VW clubs are invited. Meet in parking lot of: Starbucks & CVS Pharmacy (formerly Long’s Drugs) Angels Camp 11:00 a.m. We will be leaving the parking lot at 11:15 a.m. SHARP, driving to the Black Bart Playhouse parking lot in Murphys to make our deliveries to Santa’s Express. Lunch afterwards at a local restaurant in Murphy, and then some local winery tours. Tuolumne County participants will meet in front of Kragen’s in Sonora, and leave by 10:15 a.m. to caravan to Angels Camp. Santa’s Express feeds up to 1000 families every Christmas, through the help of local donations. They also accept donations of new, unwrapped clothing, jackets and toys. It would be great if we could all help the cause. If you are involved with other clubs who would like to join our efforts please invite them. Last year, Old Town along with David Maus Volkswagen of Orlando and many other fine sponsors (see our Sponsors page), proudly sponsored this charity event to collect toys for the U.S. Marine Corps. Toys-for-Tots Christmas program. Every year, the U.S. Marine Corps. collects and distributes millions of toys to needy families in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Because of the ever increasing popularity of the Volkswagen at Old Town, this event is open to all Volkswagens. it is intended to be a fun filled experience and as usual at Old Town, will be a non-judged show. The cars will be on display for all to see and there will be all types of activities for the family including a live band, children's entertainment with the Herbie The Love Bug displays, a best decorated holiday car event, Santa, and of course all of the normal rides and entertainment that is found at Old Town. We are also planning on expanding our vendor/swap meet area and possibly even having a car corral where you can find that special deal on a new or used V-dub... Bus City 2009 was a success with 13 buses showing up. We had a great time despite the rare Sonoma heat wave. To see pictures from Bus City 2009, click here. For a video, click here. Join us for Bus City 2010 along the Russian River at the Casini Ranch 22855 Moscow Road, Duncans Mills, CA 95430 (about 2 hours north of San Francisco). It will be a bunch of VW bus owners hanging out and enjoying the buses and the people who drive them WHO SHOULD COME: Any VW bus or van in Northern California should probably be there. But you should enjoy camping. Very little racing to be done at the ranch... COST: $40 for the 2 nights (due by March 1st, 2010). Cost covers the site. You are on your own for booze, water, food and Doritos. There is a store at the ranch, but there's no guarantee that they'll have the snacks you like so come prepared.
