VW Club Car Show 2010 Saturday, March 20th Edgewater Mall, Highway 90, Biloxi MS 15th Annual Charity Volkswagen Show in Biloxi Ms. We’ll have top 20 awards plus best of show air cooled and best of show water cooled decided by show participates, Peoples choice award, and best engine award. Lots of nice door prizes and great music though out the day. Silent auction with some really great stuff and a 50/50 prize pot at the end of the day as well. Neat unique events shirts. Location is right on the beach. All the money, 100% of the proceeds go to St Vincent D’Paul Community Pharmacy. Preregistration is $15 (must be received before 13 March) and $20 after the 13th. Dash plaques for the first 50 registered cars. New and used Volkswagen parts vendors welcome. Each vendor gets 1 free spot, each additional spot is $15. 1 spot is 10X20. Read On... General Info: Meet us in the Middle for a gathering of VW enthusiasts from Southern and Central California. The location is beautiful Nojoqui Falls Park in Santa Barbara County. It is near the Danish style city of Solvang. Take the short hike up the trail to the falls that are usually flowing nicely this time of year. There is no charge to get in. Raffle: You know that new part sitting on your shelf you won't use? Get it back in circulation and donate it to the raffle. It doesn't matter how small it is, we will package together items to make a good prize. Any non VW prizes would be great also. Just bring to the BBQ whatever you have to donate. Vanagons in the Valley The first SVVC campout will be held on the banks of the Susquehanna, at Riverfront Campground in Duncannon, PA. Kayak and boat rentals nearby, and the campsite will haul people and kayaks/canoes upstream for a nice float down the river. They promote and support quality volunteer representation for children to provide each child a safe, permanent, nurturing home. This Sunday afternoon event has had in excess of three hundred (300) show cars participate & approximately three thousand spectators. We are extremely pleased to have raised $22,957 at the 2009 event for Lone Star Casa Inc. To date this event has raised in excess of $48,500 ($17,000 in 2008, $6,000 in 2007 & $2,500 in 2006) We look forward to this growing into an even bigger event & have set a goal to raise even more for CASA next year. It will be a bunch of VW bus owners hanging out and enjoying the buses and the people who drive them WHO SHOULD COME: Any VW bus or van in Northern California should probably be there. But you should enjoy camping. Very little racing to be done at the ranch... COST: $40 for the 2 nights (due by March 1st, 2010). Cost covers the site. You are on your own for booze, water, food and Doritos. There is a store at the ranch, but there's no guarantee that they'll have the snacks you like so come prepared. We want to see all makes and models of Volkswagens for this show. We do not care one bit whether you have a full blown show car or if its a rusty old beater that just gets you where you want to go. This is a show/cruise-in for anyone and everyone who loves old VW's. We just want to see your car so we can get to know you and you can get to know all of the people from around Upstate South Carolina and beyond. On to the good stuff. We will have awards for Best of Show, Best Bug, Best Convertible, Best Buggy, Best Interior, Best Engine & Promoter's Choice. In the past we have done awards for best ghia and best bus along with a water-cooler award last time but we never have more than 1 or 2 buses or ghias show up. Honestly, I couldn't care less if a water cooler showed up!! There will be some kind of refreshments for those who come and as usual there will be no registration fee although we ask for donations to help us offset the cost of putting on this event. We do this event for comraderie and the love of the VW people and cars and no other reason. Directions: From Greenville, SC and Hendersonville/Asheville, NC: Take Hwy 25S to Hwy 123W toward Easley. Go through Easley and go about 10 miles or so to the Central Exit. Take a right off the exit and go to the end of the road (about 1.5 miles). Take a left and VW Parts is on your left (about 3/4 mile). From Spartanburg, SC/Charlotte, NC: Take I-85 to Exit 40. Right off exit onto Hwy. 153. Go to the END of Hwy 153 and take Hwy 123 toward Easley. Go through Easley and go about 10 miles or so to the Central Exit. Take a right off the exit and go to the end of the road (about 1.5 miles). Take a left and VW Parts is on your left (about 3/4 mile). From Anderson, SC: Take Hwy. 76 toward Clemson. Exit onto Hwy 93 and VW Parts is approx. 4 miles on right. A weekend of events. This has become a very large and successful Hot & Street Rod event through the years with not a lot of VW participation, (last year we had 54 VW’s and are expecting over 100 in 2010). This will not be your typical street rod cruz-in you will attend BUT the VW's will be given our own block. We will all be together and have our own show with in the show. My business is located in the middle of this block and will be providing the volunteers to organize our group, ALL VW's parked right in the heart of a street rod show • Hosted Doughnuts and Coffee • Music and Give-A-Ways • Awards I will provide any travelers with trailers parking and our business can be used as a gathering place or restrooms since we are closed that day. We will be meeting at Cherrydale Point Shopping Center in Greenville, SC at noon and we will be leaving the parking lot absolutely NO LATER than 12:30pm. We will travel up Hwy. 276 to Hwy 25 and then on to Hwy. 11. We will stop for lunch at Aunt Sue's Restaurant which will be about 1:15pm so any stragglers can catch us there if you miss us at Cherrydale Point. After lunch, we will drive the rest of the length of Hwy. 11 to Hwy. 123 very close to the SC/GA border. Once on 123 those from Anderson or close by can peel off or stay with us and the rest can cruise back to wherever you want. It's about a 110 mile ride roundtrip so I figure it to take about four hours or so including lunch. If you would are interested and would like to participate please call Bill at (864) 561-1632 or email me at Nvisigod@yahoo.com so I can get a rough estimate of how many people and cars to let the restaurant know how many people they can expect to have descend on them at one time. Any and all VW's are welcome to enjoy this BNNTA family-oriented camping event. Featuring VW camping alongside a 22 mile long lake, an informal VW Bus show, a fun and highly competitive "best individual" and "best group" campsite decoration contest, a scenic countryside caravan on Saturday over to discover the sights of historic Hannibal, MO (the childhood hometown right on the Mississsippi River of Samuel Clemens, a.k.a. "Mark Twain"), Bus show awards and door prizes, campfire activities, slow drags, etc. Lakeside campground, so bring your watertoys (canoes, kayaks, etc.). BNNTA is held in a beautiful Corp of Engineers built/managed campground with very nice facilities, clean bathrooms and nice shower facilities, a playground and a huge covered pavilion for our sole use. We restrict access to the campground to only VWs, so you won't wake up in the morning staring at the side of a motorhome, just the beautiful sight of VWs of all types sprawling off into the distance! The "total" event/camping fee for each VW for the entire four day weekend is only $30. Yep! A total of only $30! This is a total charity event to collect toys for the U.S. Marine Corps. Toys-for-Tots Christmas program. Every year, the U.S. Marine Corps. collects and distributes millions of toys to needy families in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. It is a non-judged show and the entry fee is one new un-wrapped toy. This fast growing all Volkswagen show at Old Town is intended to be a fun filled experience and as usual at Old Town, will be a non-judged show. The cars will be on display for all to see and there will be all types of activities for the family including a live band, children's entertainment with the Herbie The Love Bug displays, a best decorated holiday car event, Santa, and of course all of the normal rides and entertainment that is found at Old Town.
