Thought I would share my project. It's my buddy Eric Williams' bus, and ended up being a partial restore. It needed rust repair, some interior, and touch body/paint. Looking to make it a little more respectable.
Hope you enjoy the pics
What I started with.....

I tried to tackle the whole right side first. I made the I beams and crossmembers in a welding certification class I was taking at the time. They had some kick ass machinery there, so in my freetime I would take advantage of using them while I could for vw projects. After those were installed, I moved on to the bulkhead, rockers, and rear qtr area...

Started doing the drivers side here. Background wise. The bus had originally been found leaning in a ditch, and eventually rusted out everything on that side.

After finishing some welds, and getting everything ground down. I started mocking up the drivers rocker. The rust was beyond where the replacement panel laid.

After replacing the center supports. I formed a new heater tube and coated everything with POR15 twice before putting in the floors.
Floors had gotten a couple of coats of rust proof paint also.

thanks for the props guys. This bus turned out to be more work than anticipated.....suprise suprise.
Ended up making the inner pillar piece, stripping the excess bondo off, and making a new patch panel....
The battery tray was toast also....

Next the front nose. Found that it had previously been hit right under the
drivers headlight and lower V below the emblem. Took off alot of filler here....
Tried getting that nasty section straight, but no luck, so it got cut.
After the welds were finished up. Almost the whole nose receive a skim coat of filler. Nothing compared to what was applied previously.

Yeah skillet, you went to town on that thing....nice work..... That bus is on cream puffity puff status from damn near junkyard status. I gotta get my riviera over there soon so's you can hook a brutha up with some floor and rocker replacement. That '67 made me want to get out there and camp like no other.
...........but chyou don't hear me dough....... _________________ I like VWs |

^^^Thanks Atrain...
Here's when I started the drivers panel. Alot of waves initially, and a few more after welding that lower section in due to the heat. I used a yard stick to indicate just how much I needed to pull and push in different areas.
I didn't want to apply a ton of mud, so alot of slide hammer nails were used instead. Worked out pretty well in the end with only minimal filler.
