I really like cr250250r's set up. What kind of lights are they and what kind of mount is it?

What happened to xexxor? Shocked

Anyways, I have a similar setup. Dont know if its gonna be permanent but good for now.......

Its just a generic offroad light mounted to the door where the stock mirrors would go. Single bolt inside the door frame holds it on. Seems sturdy enough, but Im still not sold. Put on by PO.

Wow- didn't notice that many cars with this setup. Here's mine- they're probably about 1/4" steel, and welded to the pillars. I kinda like that they're tucked in fairly close without being TOO obtrusive to vision, and also the mirror and CB antenna are both firmly connected to them. They're plenty stout also.

xexxor has been retired. Everyone calls me Spoon, so instead of bothering admin I just reupped. I know I violated the rules. I am sorry but I did not have much time in anyway. Sometime I will tell you why they call me spoon. Now back on topic. I really like the look and think it will be functional. I am really hestitant to weld to the pillar just in case I don't like it, but I also have to have my mirror. So the question goes on.

That is probably the way to do it. The old "KISS" method is usually the best.

I answered your old account don't know if you got it. Mine were homemade.

Where do you ride in bolivar. I'd probably bomb the corps roads by the lake. Used to know some spots by masters and aldrich. My buddies grandma has a place off H hwy on your end. He bombs out there. They have a seasonal pond to play in. He has a mid-engine rail. He drives it on the street with dealer plates. He's a cedar county deputy, that helps with the legal issues.

Stockton Lake is great place. I used to take the truck around it and had a lot of fun. Back in my youth you could have all kinds of fun around, but these days it is a little harder. To be honest I have the most fun just on the gravel roads. We have had so much rain that the roads are all washed out. It makes it great. I got to get my new tires. The ones I have on now seem to float really bad on the gravel.

If you get this way again you ought to let me know I would like to shake your hand. Heck we probably know people in common already.

Planning a trip next year to wynoka. Staying in stockton for a week also. I'll have the brown bomber. We should hit up a day run. Maybe around fair play or something.

I don't really have a good reason "why"... but I just don't like the lights on the side. Looks goofy to me.... but then, i've been accused of sporting a BBQ-ish roofrack on my car... so what do I know?

Best part about playing with this stuff... to each his own.

Scratch that.. here's my reason... mounting anything to sheetmetal is generally a bad idea, especially on a car that will be bounced through the dirt for most its life. They will either flicker, rip the sheet metal, or have big ugly brackets ...

again.. no offense intended to anyone currently enjoying this setup... but heres at least one big "no-go" vote.

car is not quite running yet... but I believe I have narrowed down the issue to the voltage regulator. (as if we didn't already know huh?) I've started my new job, and have been pretty much "one-track mind" about work since the trip...

... It will mellow out... but not for a couple months... (read: a year till probation is over)

... just gotta keep saying, "This is a good problem to have."

it just seems to me that they would be in the way. my daily driver is a chevy S-10 with big dumbo ear sideview mirrors and the D side one gets in my way on left turns sometimes.

What is best is to run some driving lights lower on the car and some pencil beams on the top. I also agree that mounting them on sheet metal is bad mmmkay.

If you really decide to put them on then the roof, I prefer doing it like this.
