|
|
I have been working on a new muffler/header for a split or up to 71 bus with a 1600 or larger engine.
We will be testing it on a dyno on some bigger then stock engines to see how it works. It did make a noticeable difference on the stock 1600 SP in the test/fit bus and will be testing on a 1776 and 1800 this weekend.
A few more tweeks and they will be ready for sale.

I have 2 more prototypes that will be here Friday (for dyno work) and the final version will be here next week for final fit. If everything works out they will be available in approx 2 to 3 weeks, raw or ceramic coated. _________________ Stocking distributor of "The Funky Green Panels"

By the looks of this muffler, I am assuming it's less restrictive than stock. If so, how "big" could you go with this muffler? |

It's quieter than a header with a single quiet pak
The whole purpose is to make something for bigger then stock engines and retain a somewhat stock appearance.
We will be testing them on a
1776 with heater boxes
1800 stroker with heater boxes
and for shits and giggles a 2087 (welded flanges and J tubes) _________________ Stocking distributor of "The Funky Green Panels"

Definitely keep us posted on price and dyno results. Is the 1776 DP with D/carbs? |

The apron is not bent (only one little spot on the right in the pic), it only appears to be because of the angle I took the pic.
One of the mods is the muffler is being moved closer to the engine and also up a little more to hide it a little better and to get some more clearance between the apron and the muffler.
This is the fist one that was test fit and the mods are now being made for the production versions

In the "raw" version, are you using stainless or plain steel? _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |

what a great idea! I've been messing with crappy fitting aftermarket header/single pack combos for too long on my 66 w/ a 1776. None of them have fit correctly under the bumper. |

There are no plans for stainless. They will be available raw (not painted) or ceramic coated _________________ Stocking distributor of "The Funky Green Panels"

I haven't seen a bumper like that for a while. I had those peashooter holes on my first splitty, a 59, and it had the bug tail pipes sticking out the holes a la Muir.
Damn, I miss that bus. It was aqua too. with a SWR dash _________________ The Obsolete Air-Cooled Documentation Project http://oacdp.org/ |

I haven't checked that yet but I am pitting one on my 1800 stroker tomorrow and it has the CB pump so we'll know tomorrow _________________ Stocking distributor of "The Funky Green Panels"

Great! I am aiming to do away with all the full flow hosing and all that jazz and go with the pump/filter combo also! _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |
