Behind the tar board in my 67, I’m not talking about the ‘pillows’ but the weaved cloth looking thing. It’s not some kind of heat resistant asbestos cloth is it?

I'm certainly not an expert, but does it match your interior? On my bug, I found small squares of interior fabric used throughout the car in hidden areas which I assumed were to reduce rattling, wire chafing, etc. |

Feel like it might match the stuff wrapping round the pipe under the rear seat? |

Looks exactly like a scrap of cloth seat covering that's been used as a chafe guard to me. Very common to see this in numerous spots around the vehicle, mostly hidden behind door cards, tarboard, headliner, etc. _________________ 1960 Ragtop w/Semaphores "Inga" |

No offense, but is your goal to take the car apart piece by piece to inspect every unknown fiber out of concern for it being asbestos?? Hobbies are fun too!! |
