I have a 66 deluxe that was used as a laundry truck for years unfortunately some one backed up with the rear hatch up and damaged the hinges and springs. I have a donor bus that I am using to replace the hinges and spring assembly. Has any one ever taken these things out there killing me! Need to replace so I can put the headliner in any hints. |

It's a piece of cake. One person job and it only take about an hour to do both sides. The key, is to relieve the spring tension before removing the retaining pins and then the whole thing comes apart. Read you're Bentley manual, or simply use some common sense and your prybar and you'll be set in no time. |

i need to replace the rear hatch springs on my 67. i've loaned out my bentley manual and now its skipped town with the borrower. can anyone post some detailed step by step instructions. replacing the first set of hinges looks pretty easy but i'm having a hard time figuring out how to remove the springs. i thought id ask before i screw something up. _________________ Missouri Micros |

Sorry Bob, I have a definite aversion to strong springy things. I don't heal very fast any more. |

i just followed the instructions from the link dstfun posted.. might have been easier as the bus only had the hinges and no tension bars and the roof i got the parts from was flipped upside down and laying on the ground |
